The News or SpongeBob Square Pants - that is the question

Random 2 Comments »

There comes a time in your life when you have to ask yourself the very serious question. For me it arose a while ago when me and my girlfriend were arguing over the remote control… The News or SpongeBob Square Pants?

Less ridiculous posting will continue spoon…

It doesn’t grow on trees you know

First off let me tell you about this amazing film I went to see last night, The Science of Sleep. It’s directed by Michel Gondry who I absolutely love… and the film is really good, so everyone should go and see it.

Ah you see it would be relevant to speak of dreams on the subject of sleep, but my dream last night was very crap… it was a wasted 6 hours last night. But if you did have a good dream then tell us all about it.

So yes anyway… today what I want to talk about is spending tha big bucks in a 50 cent style. I want to know what is the most expensive thing you have ever bought (excluding your house if you bought that).

I think the most expensive thing I ever bought was my computer followed by a bed. I also bought this DVD player when no one had even heard of DVD players… it might have been before they were even invented. It was the cheapest one on the market and it was made by Wharfedale and it was pretty poor. It cost about £200 and I reckon today it would be that one that costs £15 at tesco… except in size, where it was the equivalent of about 4 of those ones stacked on top of each other.

My previous creative director was telling me that she once bought a pair of boots by some famous designery person which she had wanted for ages, which cost £550. She was living in London at the time and she was getting a taxi home and she was phoning all of her friends to tell them she had just bought these amazing shoes as she was mega excited. she got out of the taxi at home only to realise she was bootless as she had left them in the taxi. She was really pissed off, but that taxi driver received a lot of sex off his wife when he got home.

I read this story about Noel Gallagher buying a house in Spain or somewhere. After a few months he phoned the estate agent to complain about this massive yacht he wanted moving that was spoiling his sea view, only to be told that the yacht was part of the house and he was the owner. You know you’ve got too much money when you’ve bought a massive yacht and you don’t even know it.

Anyway… what is the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought?

Grrrr

It’s a grumpy one today. What is annoying you today?

Here is my list…

1. Traffic jams - what can you do to amuse yourself?
2. Nestle for this reason (this is not just specific to today, more like the past 2 years)
3. McDonalds
4. Edith Bowman
5. Scientology
6. My friend just got a job that pays more than twice what i get paid (sans a degree)
7. Low wages
8. Clients that can’t make their minds up
9. That a packaged sandwich at a roadside cafe costs £4.50. I wouldn’t pay that if Gordon Ramsay came round to my house, made it and did all of my washing up and tidied the house
10. People trying to blame everyone but themselfs

That is not all, but I’ll leave it at that. So what’s annoying you guys…

Random Factoids

Again I apologise for the poor effort on the blogging front, but something as big as Rick Waller is going down (ooooh bad mental image)… but as this isn’t a personal blog I shall have to keep you all guessing (clue: it is vaguely shed related).

Today my brain feels as if it’s lacking in information, so I pass the responsibility onto you to fill my brain with random facts of a useless nature. These can be as rubbish as you like, something to aid in the pub quiz or whatever you have.

Here are some examples, which I’m sure you can all better…

The 7up logo has a red dot on it because the inventor (if you call them that) was an albino and had red eyes… I’m not sure if this is true.

Apparently Squids testicles are in their heads… I’m not checking if these are true, I believe everything I’m told

4 people die every year in the UK while putting their trousers on

Cathie Jung’s waist is about the same size as a regular jar of mayonnaise. She’s been wearing a corset every day for the past 12 years, and she now wears one 24 hours a day.

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes.

The phrase “rule of thumb” is derived from an old English law, which stated that you couldn’t beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb… how thoughtful.

Anyway… feed me your random factoids. I was going to use some I heard on Colin Murray’s show the other day (source of the squid fact) which were amazing, but I have forgotten them. If anyone remembers them write ‘em down for me. Thank you.

Which celebrities have you met or seen

Celebrity, The Spinto Band 7 Comments »

First off let me apologise for the lack of updatage this week, I have been uber busy in search of the perfect shed mmmmm.

Anyway, like I said I am really busy so I’ll keep this short… and now I’ve said that I’ve only gone and started rambling like a moron on coke. And speaking of morons on coke today I want to post up in the style of heat magazine and want to know about your Celebrity Spots.

I have mentioned this one in a comment on Celeste’s blog before that when I was in London once I spotted Lisa Riley in Ann Summers testing vibrators on her nose and whipping her friends… oh how the memory haunts me.

I also spotted Noel Gallagher at a small clothes shop in Manchester, but I was in awe and I just stood in the doorway when he needed to get passed with my mouth open and he said “all right pal” to which I replied… eeer with not saying anything, but he knew what I meant, then he left.

I also spotted Elle Macpherson and David Blaine while in New York. I have also seen Ryan Giggs, Alex Higgins, the almighty great Spinto Band on numerous occasions and some others that I can’t remember. I’ll update this post when my brain is out of flash action script mode (but don’t count on it).

So tell me about your celebrity spots… the more z-list the better I think, but let me know all celebs you’ve spotted and what they were doing.

Help me choose the winning lottery numbers

Living 15 Comments »

You may remember a while ago me writing about the lottery being a mugs game… 14 million to one etc. But desperate times and all that, means I am in serious need of some financial gain.

Now being that I am about as lucky as a James Bond villan’s henchman I thought I would put it to the room and let you guys pick my numbers.

According to Derren Brown a good technique for predicting the future is imagining yourself in this case watching the tv in the comfort of your own living room and actually seeing a ball (of the lottery variety… not like footballers in short shorts variety) coming out… and whatever that number is… you tell me.

So if you could all comment one number you think is going to appear and I will use them to win big… obviously I will share all of the wealth with those who helped me win (my parents and gf). Feel free to use the numbers we choose, and you too could be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Now all I need to do is get 6 people to read this sucker.
