What should you have taken up earlier in life

A few weeks ago I found myself reading an article about skateboarding, which I was really into at 16. Unfortunately, like most things, because you can’t just pick up a skateboard and be badass at it straight away I didn’t persevere with it. Now I kind of want to do some skateboarding.

The problem is I am far too old to be rubbish at skateboarding. People are understanding if there is like a 3 year old kid who can only just go in a straight line without taking a tumble. If that three year old kid is a fully grown man then jokes will be hurled and feelings will be hurt… just as badly as the grazes on my elbows.

Soooooooo. What do you all wish you had taken up earlier in life?

Oh, I also wish I had learned about web 2.0 before tom from myspace.

Free money-lets buy stuff

There is this woman who went to a cash machine to draw out her last £10 to purchase cigarettes and meths, only to realise she had £135,010 credit in there. Instead of questioning this amount clearly not being hers, she went on a massive spending spree. As well as buying the cigarettes and meths she picked up a 50′ plasma tv, new fridge freezer, completely redecorated her squat and booked a £10,000 holiday to Florida.

What would you do if you found a massive amount of money in your account?

Not to try and sway you, but the woman I’m talking about did get everything repossessed and is now going to jail.

Lets talk about Victoria Beckham

What does everybody think of this bizzare creature?

She was on TV last night and I’m sure she was going out of her way to be a cliche of herself. There is no way she is really like that all the time.

I read in this really good book, that before she was famous she said “I want to be as famous as persil automatic”. The thing that’s interesting is that she didn’t say I want to be as famous as Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. Victoria Beckham wanted to be a famous brand… brand Beckham, which she has definitely succeeded in doing.

I think she’s alright. What do you guys think… also while we’re on the matter did David actually cheat on her with that horrific Loose woman?

If you were famous

Who would you like to interview you? It could be anyone…

Would you go for the biggies like Jay Leno or David Letterman in America, or would you go for the Parkinson over here. Would you like to be interviewed (and then rated) by the occasionally evil Chris Moyles. Maybe you would prefer the funny interview with Alex and (the incredibly hot) Alexa… or would it be your dream to be talking to such morons as Dick and Dom or JK and Joel (grrrr). Maybe you would like to be interviewed and then seduced (be you male or female) by the crackpot that is Russel Brand.

I would have to say it would be Jonathan Ross for me, because he has a tendency to make the people he’s with look funny even if all they do is laugh at his jokes. He also seems to do a lot of research and can ask serious questions too, while still having a bit of a laugh.

So who would it be?

What is the best TV show of all time

Film & TV 10 Comments »

Last night saw the first screening of a new TV show, Cape Wrath. After a stupendous amount of advertising on Channel 4, I think the show lived up to hype. I get the feeling TV shows are finally getting back to the good old days when shows like the A-Team were first launched.

At the moment TV shows seem really well thought out and there is some genuine talent proposing ideas for TV and not just going for glory on the big screen. With shows like Lost, 24, Heroes and Cape Wroth, as well as the always good TV comedies and documentaries and those shows where they come and criticise your life and then tell you how to make it better, we really are spoilt for choice on TV and people wonder why kids these days are all obese.

Today I want to know 1. if you saw Cape Wroth, what did you think of it? And B. What is your favourite TV show of all time?

It could be absolutely anything… I fear i may not get too many answers, because it’s taken me ages to try and think of mine. There are so many, but I would have to say the TV show I remember being most obsessed about was probably Dark Angel when it first came out. But then I really got stupidly into The OC shamefully and I love 24 and Scrubs and I was obsessed with the A-Team and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers as a child, and who changes the channel when Friends is on… even if you’ve already seen that episode, which you have. It’s an impossible question to answer… but give it a go.

Today I just thought I’d let you all know what has been going on inside my head over the last couple of days. It also kind of explains my inability to blog too often.

So here goes…

1. How I can convince the debt collectors that my name isn’t Steven Pandolfo (Steven if you’re reading this… give yourself up already).

2. How I can convince BT that the phone points in my new house are not a figment of my imagination

3. Who really killed Claire in Hollyoaks?

4. How much I enjoy watching Wimbledon, and by Wimbledon I mean Maria Sharapova

5. How I’m expected to do the work of 3 designers due to a double whammy of redundancies at work

6. Where is all the rain? Where I live it has been sunny for weeks… I think this whole story might be propaganda by Al Gore

7. Second Life - Does no one else see that it is the most bizzare freakshow on the planet?

8. Why people on Big Brother don’t realise if they want to have sex without the public seeing then they should do it in plain view… you think Channel 4 will broadcast hardcore porn?

9. How much of today’s Race For Life Sarah will run, how much she will walk and how much she will have to drag herself along the ground to get to the end

10. How a 60 year old man can have a better body than me, a 23 year old man in his prime

11. How a 7 year old boy can have a better body than me, a 23 year old man in his prime

12. Have space raiders sacrificed the number of crisps to keep the low price of 10p? I’m sure there used to be more in there when I were a lad

13. How I can get Channel 4 to bring back Big Breakfast as morning TV nowadays is wack

What have you guys been thinking about?
