Is Karma real or is it just coincidence

I must accept my first complaint, courtesy of Rhys as a compliment… someone actually cares if I update this sucker. For like the third time in a row I must apologise for the lack of nu-posts, next week I intend to get back on the tri-weekly post bandwagon, thank you for your patience… or lack there of in Rhys’ case.

Today I want to talk about karma.

I am a big fan of My Name is Earl, despite it’s suspected scientology propaganda undertones… which I will discuss no further. Earl lives his life by the motto “Do good things and good things will happen to you. Do bad things and it will come back to haunt you”.

Do you believe in karma, or is it all pure coincidence.

I believe that karma comes back and bites me on the ass ten times harder than it should… sorry for the disturbing mental picture. There are numerous examples of this that I could tell you about, but let me just tell you about the latest incident.

On Sunday I went to watch my friend’s band. Almost as soon as I walked through the door a kind woman walked up to me and handed me £5 saying “I walked in behind you and I think you dropped this”. I do lose money all the time and I knew I had at least one £5 note in my pocket earlier so I said “thank you very much”.

The next time I reached into my pocket I realised I had two £5 notes in my pocket, and started thinking maybe that wasn’t my £5. My friend said “if it wasn’t yours then karma will make you lose £5 at some point in the near future”. But here’s where the “ten times harder” bit comes in.

Today I had a freak burst tire on Mariah (my car). Karma had only gone and hammered a massive nail into it… proving that the £5 couldn’t have been mine, and it is going to cost me way more than £5 to fix said tyre… which proves two things. Thing the first, I need to do more good deeds and thing the second ain’t karma a bitch.

I don’t believe in Karma at all. I think the way to get along and do well is to be horrible and not care too much about how you treat others. A lot of rich and powerful people get to where they are ’cause they live like this. And they don’t always have bad things happen to them in return. I still think it’s good to treat people well and be kind, you might not get rich, but people will like you.

Oh and also, shit things seem to happen to nice people. If Karma exists it just ain’t fair.

I do believe in Karma, the amount of times I have been nice to people then found money is scary. Of course logically Sarah’s correct: I’m nice to people all the time, but rarely find money.

I just use it as a way to find people.

Oh, and take it like a compliement, you crazy person. I wasn’t having a go, I understand I have no life, but an amazing blog :)

Definitely believe in karma. If bad things are happening to good people, then I believe good things will happen post-life, whatever that may be.
