Legal age for buying cigarettes is now 18 in UK
Living, News, Politics, Random, Science Add commentsSo the legal age for buying cigarettes has now been raised from 16 to 18 in the UK.
I feel sorry for the poor people who started smoking (legally) at 16, they’re now addicted. Now they’re like 17 and can’t buy cigarettes any more, what are they going to do… is Gordon Brown going to give them prescription cigarettes or something? They don’t make heroin addicts go cold turkey… this is just mean.

Here in the United States, the legal age has pretty much always been 18 to buy cigarettes, although most teenagers don’t pay attention to that. They find people to buy cigarettes for them anyway. I don’t smoke myself (nor do I live in the UK), so this isn’t something that concerns me. I do feel sorry for those addicted teens under 18, though!
